Animal Husbandry

  • To provide quality fodder and cattle feed to livestock farmers, this financial year, 120 metric tons of fodder seeds were distributed through all the farmer service centers in the district to 4,120 farmers at a 75% subsidy, incurring an expenditure of ₹21,00,000. Additionally, 520 metric tons of cattle feed were distributed to 3,466 farmers at a 50% subsidy, costing ₹57,20,000.

  • For the year 2025-26, deworming was carried out for a total of 13,32,025 sheep and goats under this program. The deworming program benefits shepherds by reducing mortality rates and increasing body weight in the animals.

    Under the Accelerated Breed Improvement Programme, sex-sorted semen was used on 5,385 cattle during the year 2025-26, resulting in the birth of one thousand seventy-seven female calves.

  • Under the Livestock Insurance Scheme, in the district for the year 2025-26, 3,216 livestock farmers and sheep breeders have benefited with a subsidy expenditure of ₹25,00,000..

  • Under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, 21 breeding camps and 35 calf rallies were organized in all mandals at a cost of ₹10,60,000 to increase cattle productivity.
